Event Description :

The AUSTSWIM Teacher Licence™ is the industry standard for swimming and water safety teachers™. AUSTSWIM courses are delivered and recognised in each state and territory of Australia and many countries overseas.
The AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety™ course provides candidates with essential competencies to teach swimming and water safety™ to persons from four years of age in swimming pools and confined natural shallow water venues. Accreditation is valid for three years.

The course runs over 2 full days from 8.30am-5.30pm. 

Ø must be 16 years of age (cannot be qualified until 17)
Ø have a reasonable level of fitness and swimming ability

Post-course requirements:
Ø An online theory assessment (done in your own time)
Ø Nominal workplace training hours under the supervision of an AUSTSWIM licensed Teacher
Ø Plan 3 lesson plans – 1 for a beginner, 1 for an intermediate and 1 for an advanced class
Ø Assessment of teaching competence (taking a class) assessed by an approved AUSTSWIM Assessor
Ø Current CPR certificate
Ø Provide a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number
Ø A valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) (if 18+).
