Free or reasonably priced help is out there! In this Corner we’ll look at three services parents/carers can take advantage of, two of them at Bella Vista and one online.

- Family Support Work for families with children aged 0 - 17
Family Workers and Parenting Coaches can assist you individually, as a couple, and as a family. Explore the strengths and skills you have within your family and identify any changes or improvements you would like to make.
 
- Financial Counselling Services
Free independent and confidential face-to-face counselling.
 
- Children’s Expressive Therapies
An individual and/or group therapeutic counselling program delivered by an experienced Art Therapy practitioner.
 
- Counselling
In partnership with a local Child and Family Therapist, this service provides counselling for children, youth, individuals, couples and families.

- Ideas for Parenting Teens: A three-hour session that focuses on how to effectively communicate and set boundaries with your teenager
 
- Relating as Stepfamilies: Three two-hour sessions that assist couples manage the demands of life as a stepfamily
 
- Building Connections: A three-hour session to help separated parents have healthy and strong relationships with their children
 
Rage: A six-week anger management course for adolescents aged between 11 and 17
 
 
3. Black Dog Institute – online courses for parents/carers

- Building resilience in young people
This free online course includes five short, interactive, and engaging modules that will help you understand what resilience is and the role you can play building resilience in the young people you care for.
 
- Navigating teenage depression
These free modules will help you understand depression and bipolar disorder in the context of adolescence.
