Stage 6 Update

Year 11 2015/ Year 12 2016

The HSC has begun for 2016’s Year 12 cohort (Year 11 2015).  The students have been adjusting to the rigours of HSC study and learning new study techniques and time management skills to take with them into next year.  Mr Green and Miss Powles have been working with the Year 12 students to ensure they understand the importance of punctuality. The BOSTES requirements concerning sustained effort and diligence have been explained to the students and has been stressed that they should be on time for class and engaged in all their lessons. This has included the reminder of being at school every morning for the 7:55am first bell.

Recently, on Wednesday, 18 November the students travelled to Penrith Regatta Centre to participate in the RYDA Driver Education Program.   The students attended different sessions on safe driving, driver awareness and heard from a car accident survivor who had suffered a brain injury. Students also had a presentation from the local Police Liaison officer.  Although it was a very hot day, Mr Green and Miss Powles are so proud of the year group, as they were praised by the organisers of the day for their manners, level of engagement and fabulous conduct.

Year 12 2015

Year 12 have finished their journey at St John Paul II after completing their HSC and many expressed their sadness at leaving the safe and nurturing environment of the College. We have it on good authority that they are enjoying their time off - some are working, some holidaying and sleeping seems to be a popular option.  Their results come out Wednesday Week 11 and on the following day, Thursday, the College puts on a pizza lunch so they can gather together one last time and congratulate each other on their HSC and ATAR results.
We hope to see them all back at the High Achievers Assembly early in Term 1 2016
