Last Thursday, 28 January, the College welcomed over 200 new students as they begun their very first day of high school at St John Paul II. The students met their teachers and classmates, received their College diaries and spent some time getting to know each other by participating in activities built around team work and learning the College song. The most important part of the day was the Starfish Ceremony, a special tradition at the College.
After hearing meaningful stories and readings at the liturgy, students created their own unique starfish that they then placed in the Terra Sancta Prayer Room and proceeded down the College pathway. This is a significant time in their journey at the College, as this College pathway they walked down on their first day of school will be the same pathway they walk down on their last day at the College in Year 12 as they proceed to their Graduation Ceremony.
The students had a great day, leaving school happy and excited to tell their parents about their first day of school!
