Year 7 & 10 - Peer Support ProgramToday our Year 7's wrapped up 7 weeks of Peer Support with our Year 10 leaders with a celebratory sausage sizzle. The Peer Support program is an significant and enjoyable component of the STJPII Year 7 transition from Year 6 into Year 7.
Establishing these connections between our year groups provides a platform where learners can ask questions, build resilience and hit the ground running with their Stage 4 studies with the support of teaching staff and their older peers.
Congratulations to our Year 10 leaders on exceptional leadership of this program and being an integral part of our Year 7's transition to high school.

Year 9 - Getting Part Time WorkYear 9 enrolled into Job Jump (https://www.jobjump.com.au/) today, a career website for highschoolers. STJPII provides access to this website for all students in Stages 5 & 6 and their first year post-HSC. The website allows students to navigate their way through TAFE, Uni, and post school opportunities. It also provides templates to assist them to build their resume.
Last week learners navigated the ATO website and registered for Tax File Numbers. Today's activity was to build a resume and practise interview skills through role play. Using Coles as an example, learners built their interview skills to ready them for part-time employment.
Next week Year 9 learners will meet with representatives from Skills Road and complete personality quizzes that will assist them in identifying future careers that match their personality and interests.
