We mourn the passing of Pope Francis, a faithful servant who led the Church with humility, compassion, and unwavering dedication to the Gospel. His death marks a significant moment for Catholics worldwide, reminding us of his deep commitment to peace and justice. As we remember his legacy, we are reminded of the guidance of St. John Paul II, whose own example of profound faith and tireless leadership continues to inspire us. Pope Francis, like St. John Paul II, called us to live with love, courage, and hope, building a world rooted in the teachings of Christ. May we honour their memories by continuing their mission to serve others and uphold the values of our Catholic faith.

Easter Sunday is the triumphant celebration of Christ’s victory over sin and death. In this Jubilee Year of Hope, we rejoice in the promise of the Resurrection, which renews our hearts and fills us with the certainty that love and life have the final word. St. John Paul II proclaimed: “Do not abandon yourselves to despair. We are the Easter people and Alleluia is our song!” As we celebrate this joyful season, may the Risen Christ fill us with unwavering hope, peace, and the courage to share His love with the world. Alleluia!

Stage 6 Visual Arts students visited the Art Gallery of New South Wales earlier in Term 1 to view the annual ARTEXPRESS exhibition displaying exemplary HSC Bodies of Work. 🎨 Students enthusiastically engaged with the HSC works and the gallery's collection of artworks in inspiring, empowering and challenging their own art making practice. 🖼 ARTEXPRESS exhibition is running until 27 April 2025. https://www.artgallery.nsw.gov.au/whats-on/exhibitions/artexpress-2025/?fbclid=IwY2xjawJvwYpleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHk2-d1PSndI-3N0A_Wr7w-uDLk-Ei8A4gUJAX-ByTXOJU3C4m5JqDDNJUzdM_aem_huhJMjR4iraKSUpMA5y2cA

On Good Friday, we stand in the shadow of the Cross, remembering Christ’s ultimate sacrifice. In this Jubilee Year of Hope, we do not see the Cross as a sign of defeat, but as the greatest act of love—one that opens the way to redemption and new life. St. John Paul II reminded us: “We are not the sum of our weaknesses and failures; we are the sum of the Father's love for us.” As we reflect on Christ’s passion, may we find strength in His love, trust in His mercy, and embrace the hope of the Resurrection.

Holy Thursday is a time for us to reflect on Christ’s gift of the Eucharist and His call to servant leadership. In this Jubilee Year of Hope, we are reminded that our faith is anchored in the love Christ showed at the Last Supper—a love that calls us to humility, sacrifice, and hope in God’s promises. St. John Paul II, a shepherd of hope, reminded us: “Do not be afraid! Open wide the doors for Christ.” As we commemorate the institution of the Eucharist and Christ’s act of washing the disciples’ feet, may we open our hearts to His presence and become bearers of hope in our world.

The school term might be over, but the Agriculture team hasn’t let the holidays stop them! 🧑🌾🐓🌱 While most people were packing away their pens, our Ag students were planting 🌿, pruning ✂️, and preparing their entries for the Royal Easter Show 🎡🐑. This incredible effort is the result of months of dedication—including over the Christmas break 🎄—because plants (and animals!) don’t take holidays! Students have stayed back after school and into the afternoons 🕓 to put the final touches on their work, ready for judging 🏅 and display to the public 👀. Heading to the Royal Easter Show these school holidays? 🐰🎟️ Keep an eye out for our school’s entries—you might spot something green 🌾, or handcrafted 🛠️ by our talented students! We’re already excited to see what they’ll start preparing next… after a well-earned rest, of course! 😅💪 Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese Sydney Royal Easter Show #RoyalEasterShow2025 #agriculture

✝️ PALM SUNDAY 🙏 Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, as we follow Christ’s journey from triumph to the Cross and, ultimately, to the glory of the Resurrection. In this Jubilee Year of Hope, we are reminded that even in suffering, God’s plan unfolds with promise and redemption. St. John Paul II encouraged us: “Jesus does not ask us to be heroes, but to have Him always present in our daily choices.” As we wave our palms in praise, may we walk with Christ in faith, trust in His love, and hold fast to the hope that leads to new life in Him.

As Pilgrims of Hope, we journey through life with the promise of the Resurrection, trusting in Christ’s victory over death. In the spirit of St. John Paul II, who called us to be people of hope and courage, today we gathered as a faith community to celebrate the joy of Easter. His words remind us, “Do not abandon yourselves to despair. We are the Easter people and Alleluia is our song!” This sacred time calls us to renew our faith, embrace new life in Christ, and rejoice in the hope that never fades. May this Easter season bring you peace, joy, and renewal. Wishing everyone a blessed and happy Easter during the break!
