We help every student shine!
At St John Paul II, we believe it is important for students to pursue interests to find what they are passionate about. We give them exposure to a range of exciting opportunities to unlock their creative potential, develop a talent or follow a passion.
We help every student shine!
Creative and Performing Arts
Our college has a strong focus on the performing arts with dedicated dance studios and music facilities. Students regularly perform in the college’s creative arts evenings, musicals, eisteddfods, and liturgical performances.
They also participate in CAPTIVATE, the diocesan arts initiative, which offers incredible opportunities to showcase student’s talents.Creative and Performing Arts
School Sport
Sport is a valued part of a school’s curriculum, contributing to the development of the whole child by providing opportunities for social, physical, emotional and moral learning. Participation, enjoyment and skill development are the cornerstones of school sport. Representative pathways are also available through the Parramatta Diocesan Secondary Schools Sports Council.

Social Justice
Our students are offered a wide variety of local community activities to help develop a sense of pride, respect and responsibility for themselves and others. This positive participation and actions can be seen in how we interact and learn with one another, work collaboratively and take ownership of our behaviour as well as active involvement in faith-based experiences.
In recent years, students have participated in outreach and fundraising for the following organisations:
- Vinnie's Winter Appeal and Sleepout
- Jesuit Social Services’s Ignite Food Drive
- Lids4Kids Australia
- Project Compassion

Excursions, Camps and Retreats
Every student loves to get out of the classroom and explore.
Our students benefit greatly from school trips where they are able to observe new things not available at school such as rare and exotic wildlife and plants, different cultures and the stories of our history. These experiences lead to deeper understanding of learning subjects.
Camps and retreats are also wonderful opportunities for students to develop independence, grow in faith, form strong friendships and make life-long memories!
Learning Enrichment Program
(Thursday Afternoon Activities)
Each week, students engage in Thursday afternoon activities to explore new activities and deepen their interests. Over a five-week period, they take part in one of our exciting and diverse programs including:
- peer support program facilitated by our College leaders
- senior tutorials and workshops led by our specialist teachers
- masterclasses focused on wellbeing, goal setting, and assessment
- team building activities hosted by industry providers.
The following are some other extra-curricular activities that may be offered at St John Paul II.
