21 March was HARMONY DAY!
In light of the day and celebrating Australian multiculturalism, Miss Henriquez’s Year 8 Italian class reflected on what makes them a culturally respectful person.
In groups, students shared stories of their own cultural identity and discussed the benefits of Multiculturalism in preparation for their assessment task. They then drew/wrote about their personality traits and nationalities inside hands that will all be displayed to represent class 8.02!

๐ Last night we had the pleasure of welcoming the parents and carers of our Year 7 students to a welcome event with our College Leadership Team and Teachers. ๐ It was a fantastic opportunity to discuss our students' progress as they transitioned into secondary school and to connect with our families. We truly enjoyed meeting so many of you last night. A big thank you goes out to our Year 11 Hospitality students for their fantastic support during the event. ๐

๐โโ๏ธ๐ดโโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ Our junior girls team took on the All Schools Triathlon, representing with determination and team spirit! Students Isabelle, Jade, and Indiana from Year 8 gave it their all, despite some nerves and equipment challenges. It was Issyโs first open water swim, Jadeโs first competitive ride, and Indieโs second triathlon in two days! ๐ช With resilience and support for each other, they powered through and are already excited to do it all again next year! On Wednesday 5 March, we celebrated Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of Lent and the launch of Project Compassion for 2025. ๐ Lent prepares us for the season of Easter, the most important time in the Churchโs calendar. By praying, fasting and giving alms, we are reminded of Jesusโ death and resurrection. Jesus brought the promise of hope to all people so that we may โHave life and have it to the full.โ (John 10:10) As we live into that fullness, may we also be challenged to act with love and hope, now and for all future generations.

๐ Congratulations to Jenna from Year 8 for representing NSW at the Indoor Netball Nationals in Perth last month! She competed against other states in both 6-a-side and 7-a-side games, making it to the semi-finals in 6โs and finishing 4th overall in 7โs โ an incredible achievement showing her passion, hard work, and determination!! ๐๐ What a fantastic effort โ weโre so proud of you, Jenna! ๐ช๐

Last week, our Year 12 College Leaders and SRC attended Lifted Leaders by CYP. Students were able to meet and collaborate with other Year 12 leaders from Catholic schools within the Parramatta Diocese. They participated in conversations of leadership within their schools and giving hope to others.

On Thursday 13 February, Year 12 Dance students travelled into the city to attend the HSC Dance Callbacks workshop and concert. The workshops were run by HSC Markers and Curriculum Development Teachers in the three core areas of the HSC Dance course. Students then watched the 2024 Showcase of exemplary performances in the evening. Students were able to see where their projects are going, and could begin to work towards the excellence shown in the concert.

Year 10 SRC students attended the Diocese Project Compassion Launch yesterday, where they collaborated to brainstorm ideas to raise awareness and funds in support of Project Compassion.
