From Wednesday 23 May to Friday 25 May, Year 12 went to The Collaroy Centre on their Year 12 Retreat.
The theme of the Retreat was centred around 'The Treasure Within'.
Students spent time in small and large groups participating in activities, testimonies, prayer, affirmations and music to look at their treasures and how they can use them to uphold their own (and other's) dignity throughout their life journey.
The beautiful photos taken by Mr Lara showcase the fun the students had over the three days, as well as the friendships created and strengthened throughout their years at StJPII.

Students in Years 8 & 9 experienced an empowering and relatable theatre in education program developed by Gibber Educational to complement the work that aligns with content in PDHPE and Wellbeing on alcohol prevention. Gibber explored the life-changing effects of alcohol – impacting health, safety, relationships, and career aspirations. A hard-hitting, interactive, multimedia lesson on the risks associated with underage drinking. 👋 Last night we had the pleasure of welcoming the parents and carers of our Year 7 students to a welcome event with our College Leadership Team and Teachers. 👋 It was a fantastic opportunity to discuss our students' progress as they transitioned into secondary school and to connect with our families. We truly enjoyed meeting so many of you last night. A big thank you goes out to our Year 11 Hospitality students for their fantastic support during the event. 👏

🏊♀️🚴♀️🏃♀️ Our junior girls team took on the All Schools Triathlon, representing with determination and team spirit! Students Isabelle, Jade, and Indiana from Year 8 gave it their all, despite some nerves and equipment challenges. It was Issy’s first open water swim, Jade’s first competitive ride, and Indie’s second triathlon in two days! 💪 With resilience and support for each other, they powered through and are already excited to do it all again next year! On Wednesday 5 March, we celebrated Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of Lent and the launch of Project Compassion for 2025. 🙏 Lent prepares us for the season of Easter, the most important time in the Church’s calendar. By praying, fasting and giving alms, we are reminded of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Jesus brought the promise of hope to all people so that we may “Have life and have it to the full.” (John 10:10) As we live into that fullness, may we also be challenged to act with love and hope, now and for all future generations.

🏐 Congratulations to Jenna from Year 8 for representing NSW at the Indoor Netball Nationals in Perth last month! She competed against other states in both 6-a-side and 7-a-side games, making it to the semi-finals in 6’s and finishing 4th overall in 7’s – an incredible achievement showing her passion, hard work, and determination!! 🌟👏 What a fantastic effort – we’re so proud of you, Jenna! 💪💙

Last week, our Year 12 College Leaders and SRC attended Lifted Leaders by CYP. Students were able to meet and collaborate with other Year 12 leaders from Catholic schools within the Parramatta Diocese. They participated in conversations of leadership within their schools and giving hope to others.

On Thursday 13 February, Year 12 Dance students travelled into the city to attend the HSC Dance Callbacks workshop and concert. The workshops were run by HSC Markers and Curriculum Development Teachers in the three core areas of the HSC Dance course. Students then watched the 2024 Showcase of exemplary performances in the evening. Students were able to see where their projects are going, and could begin to work towards the excellence shown in the concert.
